Read This If You’re An Overworked Entrepreneur

You’ll only find freedom through your business if your business isn’t the gatekeeper of your freedom.

How many of you started your own business so that you could have more freedom?

Now how many of you actually feel like you’re able to drop everything at 1PM and go for a hike? Or take Friday off just because you feel like it?

I’m guessing a lot less of you.

I bet that a lot of you actually feel a lot less free than you imagined because the burden of running your own business is heavy. Everything depends on you, right?

Hustle Is A Belief System, Not A Given

Everything depends on you because you’ve built your business to depend on you. This is a belief and construct you’ve created for yourself.

Doing everything yourself and not believing that another person or software can replace your work is a defense mechanism that can vary from perfectionism to a desire to control your environment.

Believing that you need to log more hours in order to reach your goals is a result of aimlessly walking until you find your destination rather than knowing the strategic path to get you there the fastest.

You didn’t start your own business to be tied to your desk all the time — isn’t that why you left your 9–5?

If you want to step into and own that freedom you were sold on when you decided to start your business, call out where your personal blindspots have informed your endless hustle. ⠀

Are you scared that stepping away from your business will stop your momentum?
Do you associate not working with not making money?
Do you not trust other people to help run your business because you believe that your business is a reflection of you?

A lot of these questions derive from not having perfect knowledge.

If you don’t know how much effort you need to put into your marketing and sales plan in order to hit your desired revenue goal, then, of course, you’ll keep on working endlessly until something changes.

When you don’t know that your perfect Sales Assistant is sitting 20 feet away from you at your coworking space because you’ve never done a search, then it makes sense why you don’t believe that unloading your work is possible.

To become the entrepreneur that has freedom, let go of the DIY mentality.

Get clear on the hustling you’re doing because of your insecurities, or is a result of not having the knowledge and tools to forge a clear path.
